Richard Joris en Ray ter Riet have been playing together in the rock band Carve when, in 2015, they decided to start YourS, to play acoustic original music. After 3 years of playing as a duo they decided to extend the band with bass and cajón. In 2018 Armand (bass) en Rutger (cajón) joined YourS. This has given the music a fuller sound, more variety and groove. Still the acoustic vibe remains in all songs.
YourS plays mainly original songs that are inspired by a mix of soul, funk, blues and rock. Melodic vocals, smooth guitars and relaxed grooves. During live gigs they might also play some covers, but always with a typical YourS flavour and twist.
Their dedication and fun led to an extensive network of musicians with whom they have played in several places in Europe, such as: Paulo Mendonca (Zweden), Sarah Smit (Canada) and Graham Robins (Engeland).
